Coming March 2026 to the Holly Shores Overlook - 78702
Ghost Harps is an installation of 6 Aeolian harps—ancient stringed instruments activated by the wind—producing ethereal sounds both known and unknown. Silhouettes of Great Blue Heron adorn the harps to acknowledge Miakān, from Napakō, the Coahuiltecan creation story, and the unbreakable human bond with water. This installation is intended to evoke witness of—and resonance with—the natural environment, as well as the human and ecological ancestry of this site. implicating our shared calling to support and protect our ecology and humanity. This work was envisioned, assembled, and installed with gratitude and respect for the ancestral stewards of these lands, who continue to enrich our lives and communities: the Coahuiltecan, Tonkawa, Lipan Apache, and Comanche.
The artist asks that you consider supporting the Indigenous Cultures Institute and their work in youth programs, Indigenous pedagogy, and water protection.
